Angie's honest notes
This is one of the hair color products that has worked really well for me. I actually discovered it in a very unexpected way. During one of my dental appointments, my dentist and I started talking about hair, gray roots, and that noticeable band of gray that begins to show as the hair grows out.
Why I tried it. I told her that my scalp is very sensitive and that traditional hair dyes, especially formulas that need peroxide or developer, can be very uncomfortable for me. She suggested I try this one because it comes ready to use and does not need to be mixed with developer. I decided to give it a try, and I have been very happy with my experience.
How I use it. I use it mainly on my gray roots. The 6N Toasted Hazelnut looks natural on my hair and helps soften the look of that gray line between colorings.
My routine. I start by washing my hair very well with shampoo. I normally avoid putting conditioner near my roots before applying the color. If I need help detangling, I use just a small amount on the ends, and keep it away from the areas where I want the color to take.
Good to know. Clairol describes it as a semi-permanent color, free of ammonia and peroxide. That is what works for me, but every scalp is different: always follow the directions on the package, including the allergy test before each use. Mine is 6N Toasted Hazelnut, 3 fl oz, and Amazon has many other shades.
